Why The Colour

These days Butterflies are gorgeous  magnificent creatures. Their wings are what makes them stand out  - they were bright and colourful like a rainbow, and when they flew they sparkled like a diamond in sunlight or like bright stars on a starry night. But I’ve always wondered how they got  their magnificent wings and now I think I know why

Long ago  when the sun glistened as it went down and when the birds sang their happy songs all day long, there were butterflies but their wings were plain white and boring. All the other bugs made fun of them because they weren’t white they were green, red and other colours. But the butterflies knew that one day they wouldn’t  be able to handle it  they didn’t know when but it was going to happen. That day had arrived but the butterflies didn’t know but Jem did, Jem is a beauty fairy she gives people and animals beauty but she could not give bug's beauty. Back in the forest the butterflies were being teased again, “ your not pretty were nice and bright,”sang the other bugs that's when it hit them, they all of a sudden  it hit them they screamed and shouted and stamped their feet so hard that it made an ENORMOUS  earthquake which shook the whole world and from that earthquake,  a tiny speck of  sunlight which shone like a thousand fireflies came from the skies , all the other bugs went to hid because they didn’t like being yelled at. Jem the beauty fairy was watching and practice here magic then she stopped and looked at the butterflies then she realised that she could turn bugs beautiful , that speck of light was here magic. So flattered  over to the butterflies and got out her wand and  once again there was the gorgeous speck of light but this time it split and stuck to the butterfly's wings and transformed their wings plain old boring wings into dazzling sparkly wings.

As the bugs came out of hiding they were shocked , to see the butterflies wings so beautiful then they came over and said sorry to the butterflies, and that’s certainly how butterflies wings are so dazzling now.

Do you know an island could kapiti island, well I do. Now days kapiti island is a place to let your worries flouty free,  it is truly a beautiful places. It’s covered with wildlife and as the sun creeps up in the horizon and it wakes up all the birds, the sound is fantastic. Most of kapiti island is beautiful rocks and walks with the most gorgeous trees draped over the rocky hills like a blanket. Kapiti island is truly magnificent, but the question is, how did it get there? I think I know, here is what I think it was created.

One night with the stars sparkling above a country could New Zealand down by a place could kapiti coast. There was a little boy named Taui, little Taui was staring up at the stars wondering what It would be like to be a star. Soon he dozed off into a dreamless sleep. Meanwhile deep in our galaxy, there were three stars they were could Gem, Glimmer and Diamond they were the most beautiful stars in the whole galaxy, expressly Gem, Oh, how beautiful Gem was people on earth even could her the north star. But that all might change. The stars were singing for all the little stars but they didn’t know was that something was watching them something angur, something, annoying this thing was back on earth it, it was a…  a… star, it was a star it was a star that had fallen a long time ago and the only way for him to get back up was if to stars would fall and crash and then he would go flying into space. Now this star was a trickster and he had a HUGE plan and when I say huge I mean HUGE. So this star grabbed these MASSIVE, boulders and made sure his aim was perfect and when it was, he threw those rocks into the sky and they hit, Glimmer and Diamond, as fast as  Gem could she grabbed them both but because she was so delicate she had to let go. Just then the trickster star went flying up into space and landed right next to a Gem, oh! I forgot to tell you he loved Gem so that's why he targeted Glimmer and Diamond. Anyway Glimmer and diamond crashed into the water and made the most biggest splash ever and formed an island.

That enormous crash woke up Taui when he saw the island he thought that we could it kapiti island, well, that's what his mum thought. That's how think kapiti island was made.

Narrator.

Narrator: People may wonder how sand was created well I know how. Here is how I think sand was made. By the way, this is true.

One day down close to where the forest meets the water there was a big family of singing trees. But what the singing trees didn’t know that there was a family of crazy humans. One day The father said to his sons.

The Father: “You boys are going to cut some trees down so you can have dinner and have a room to sleep in.”

The boys: Yes Sir!!! ( they said all together.)

Narrator: Meanwhile  harmony  was singing a song and so was everyone else so they didn’t notice one of the sing trees disappear in thin air.

 Rhythm: What happened to my backup beat. Oh No!!! look guys he’s been cut all you can see is his stump.

Redwood: Okay time for attack no one just cuts down our backup beat. Trees jet as many stones as possible.

Melody: Hey! You there, what do you think you're doing this is our property, not yours.

Timber: were just cutting down trees.Crack! Timbers!!! 

Narrator: and another tree fell to the ground.

Harmony: Attack ! ! ! (shouted harmony)

Terry: Fissed us.

Tom: Yeah missed us.

Narrator: As the singing trees kept throwing the crazy boys kept dodging the rocks and the rocks kept breaking into little bits and they kept getting smaller and smaller until they were like grains of sand. Then a wind blew the sand all across the world and that’s how sand was made. If you want to know what happened to the trees well there fine but they did die of age. About the first bit this isn’t really true, or is it?

 Sandy and warm, Sunny and cloudless, clear and salty, everyone's wearing shorts and T'shirts, sizzling sausage on the barbecue, dolphins splashing in the oncean, camaer man filming the dolphins playing, beach balls boncing on the beach.
