The World Of Planting Trees
Thursday 9th of June Rm 6 and 10 people from Rm 19 went to a reserve could Pharazyn reserve to do some tree planting for arbor day. If you don’t know what Abor day is it's a day when all the school go to a place to plant trees to create a new reserve for the investment and the animals.
You are probably wondering how we got there well here’s the answer - we went there by bus. On the bus I sat with two of my friends, Jessie and Chloe. Chloe sat in in the set in front of me and Jessie. We didn’t talk much because it was too noisy so we would have to yell. So we played eye spy and then eventually Mr Corlett started to play and then I guess we arrived at Pharayzn reserve.
Once everyone was off the bus a man named Rob talked to us about how there was just weeds when they started and what Native trees were going to plant. Then he showed us how to plant the plants. Then we had to buddy up I went with a girl named Georgia. Me and her had a ton of fun with each other, planting trees and getting dirty, except she didn’t get her hands dirty because she had gloves on. I shall tell you how we planted the trees. First we had to make sure that the hole is big enough. Then we put the plant in. Next we put the tablet in that has a lot of nutrients in it ( nutrients has a lot of healthy things for the plant. When the tablet has broken down in the ground the roots feed on it.) Then we put the dirt in and make sure there were no holes and then we have to use our foot to squash the outsides of it.
Once everyone had an even amat of planting Rob said that we have to go and wash our hands. It felt weird when I washed my hands because of the soup I had to use it fealt sandy and the water was FREEZING. Once we washed our hands we went for a walk along the path a bit and on the walk I saw a Pukao and a frog hole I think, Rob also said some things about what type of weeds there were before they first started.
Once Rob finished talking we all started slowly moving towards the place where the bus was but chatting super excitedly about how much fun we all had, once we were there we silently waited for the bu s NO not at all it was so Noisy!! that I could burst into a thousand pieces. Then I saw the bus coming I was so disappointed I never wanted to leave this wonderful plant world but I had to go. At least the bus ride was fun. I would never forget this wonderful trip.
